Special Interests Grants
Faith Mission Fund
History
The Faith Mission Christian Fund was established in 2001 by Faith Mission, Inc., a nonprofit agency that was founded in Tampa in 1923 to provide a home for children without other means of support. By the 1940’s, the home had been moved to Crystal Beach and served the community as a religious center for conferences, a missionary rest home, a day camp for children, and later, a retirement home for seniors of modest income. Today, the Crystal Beach Youth Center is the home’s sole proprietor.
In 2000, the Board of Faith Mission, Inc. sold all of the Faith Mission property, except the Youth Center, to Pinellas County to make way for a park. Proceeds from the sale placed with the Pinellas Community Foundation established the Faith Mission Christian Fund to support the establishment of healthy and stable family situations.
