Lari White Cannon was a country music singer-songwriter and actress, born in Dunedin. She gained national attention in 1988 upon winning the You Can Be a Star talent competition. During her career, Lari launched three studio albums and had several Top Ten hits.
It is with great sadness that we announce Lari passed away in January 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. To honor her legacy, her family and friends created the Lari White Cannon Scholarship — A Stepping Stone to the Performing Arts. The scholarship will assist students from Dunedin High School desiring education and a career in the performing arts.
