The ACT II Impact Grant

Award: Up to $60,000 over two years. LOI Window: Closed. Award Distribution: July 2020.
Candidates: Past PCF grant recipients and local governments directly serving the older adult population of Pinellas County.

Overview

PCF remains dedicated to serving the needs of Pinellas’ older adult population and is excited to announce a Letter of Intent process for the ACT II Impact Grant.

After conducting the Community Assessment Survey of Older Adults (CASOA), PCF has opened this grant to invest in a program that is addressing one of the four greatest needs presented in the survey:

  • Availability of affordable housing options
  • Transportation
  • Access to affordable healthcare
  • Caregiver support

Eligibility

This grant is open to governmental agencies within Pinellas County and 501(c)(3) organizations with operations in Pinellas County that work with the older adult population. This grant will only fund projects and programs that address one or more of the four focus areas listed above.

If you are a 501(c)(3), you must have received a grant from PCF in the past three years, and you must not have had to return any funds to PCF. Governmental bodies are exempt from this requirement. All funding must be spent within Pinellas County.

If you are a 501(c)(3), you must have received a grant in the past three years from one of the following sources:

  • Operating
  • Capital improvement
  • Senior Citizens Services
  • Janet A. Huntley/Theodore and Marian Tonne arts grants
  • Faith Mission
  • Childhood Hunger
  • Distribution from an endowment or Donor-Advised Fund

If you were a grantee of Senior Citizens Services before it became part of PCF, you also qualify for this grant.

Award Amount

The ACT II Fund has up to $60,000 to grant across a two-year period. The grant committee may select to fund one proposal fully, or multiple proposals. The Letter of Intent will ask how much your project or program requires and whether it is a one-year or multi-year request.

Review Criteria

Need: Your request for funds must be a reasonable solution to one of the main focus areas identified by the CASOA report, and you should have data or research to show that your improvement is a natural fit to address the need.

Solution: Strong leadership, clear and measurable outcomes, and a coherent plan for your proposed project are all crucial elements to a good application.

Financials: We want to be sure that all proposed projects are financially sound. Strong applications will have a reasonable, cost-sensitive budget with achievable outcomes that display all sources of funding. If there are budget variances, they should be explained.
