Tampa Bay Resiliency Fund FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The Tampa Bay Resiliency Fund (TBRF) is a strategic collaboration of the Pinellas Community Foundation, Allegany Franciscan Ministries, Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg and United Way Suncoast. This partnership was launched to help critical nonprofit organizations that aid the community during times of disaster. It has now been activated to aid Tampa Bay organizations helping those suffering from the effects of Hurricane Helene and the incoming threat of Hurricane Milton.

Nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations and governmental agencies will be eligible to receive assistance. Funding allocations will be prioritized to address community safety and security needs. Here are examples of priorities:

  • Emergency food, water, shelter, and other basic needs
  • Necessary services to vulnerable and at-risk populations
  • Support to allow organizations to continue or expand providing critical services related to this crisis

This is a collaboration between Tampa Bay nonprofit funders in which Pinellas Community Foundation serves as a fiscal agent. Distribution of funds will be overseen through a collaborative process by the funding partners to ensure the funds are distributed fairly and equitably to address the community’s most serious needs. 100% of the funds collected thorough this effort will be directed to address immediate and mid- to long-term needs through the provision of grants to select nonprofits.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and governmental agencies are the typical recipients of funding through the Tampa Bay Resiliency Fund. The Fund is currently disbursing funds to address known immediate needs across our community. We are also actively working to catalog the needs being addressed by nonprofits throughout the region as we assess the evolving situation.

At this time, the Tampa Bay Resiliency Fund is accepting brief applications by invitation only based upon responses to a needs survey distributed to Tampa Bay nonprofits. This page will be updated if an open call is announced.

The Fund will not support individuals, but rather will support organization programs that provide direct support to individuals.

Funding will be used to support direct relief efforts to alleviate the suffering of the victims of Hurricane Helene. This includes:

  • Emergency food, water, shelter, and other basic needs
  • Transportation
  • Facility needs of social service agencies
  • Technology and infrastructure needed to increase service capacity
  • Filling gaps not met by federal and local government relief funding
