Greetings!
Thank you for joining me for “See What’s Needed Now.”
Today, I’d like to talk with you about what many in our community are dealing with as a result of the pandemic: the threat of losing one’s home due to eviction.
Even with stimulus checks, many families hit with unemployment have been unable to catch up on their rent, and the prospect of homelessness is terrifying.
One successful solution comes from PCF grant recipient Community Law Program in St. Petersburg. Their Pinellas Eviction Diversion program mediates between the landlord and the tenant and avoids traditional eviction proceedings.
Landlords can receive back rent, and both parties agree on future rent payments.
You can support successful programs like our Eviction Diversion program by donating to the Needed Now Fund. If you find it in your heart to give, simply visit PinellasCF.org.
Thank you for joining me.
I always felt I wanted to serve the people in my community. Byron Smith
With this in mind, we asked Byron questions about his philosophy of charitable giving and how he learned so much about our community’s needs and giving opportunities.
Your gift can help provide legal support for evictions and spare local residents the burden of homelessness.
