Investing in Neighborhood Solutions, Led by People Closest to the Work

The Social Opportunity Works (SOW) Fund helps small, community-anchored nonprofits advance access and opportunity across Pinellas County; strengthening youth opportunity, arts and culture, health access, and community resilience in neighborhoods long impacted by underinvestment. Since launch, SOW has paired capacity-building support with financial awards to organizations serving historically excluded communities.

What SOW Funds

  • Practical capacity: staffing, salary support, governance, compliance, planning, and evaluation.
  • Program essentials: equipment, technology, space, and tools to expand high-impact services.
  • Connection and visibility: outreach and collaboration that grow community participation.

Who SOW Supports

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofits with annual budgets of $100,000 or less, serving priority zip codes in Pinellas County: 33701, 33705, 33711, 33712, 33713, 33714, and 33755.
  • Organizations working on racial, economic, educational, housing, or health access in Tampa Bay.

  • Note: SOW provides support to nonprofit organizations only; we’re not able to provide assistance to individuals.
