St. Petersburg is taking action during National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month by launching a new initiative to address the need for accessible mental health care in communities of color and other underserved populations.
With federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) — which was facilitated by the Pinellas Community Foundation (PCF) as part of the 5 Years Faster initiative — the city plans to establish community support hubs across St. Pete over the next three and a half years.
The project, led by The Well for Life nonprofit organization, will offer trauma-informed therapy, case management, and outreach.
