1 in 8 children in Pinellas County faces hunger and food insecurity—that’s 18,369 children at risk.
Founded in 2012 by Gina Wilkins, The Kind Mouse started as a grassroots effort from her home during the economic downturn. It has since grown into a trusted community organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in Pinellas County.
Our mission is to assist families in transition and their chronically hungry children while developing the next generation of volunteers to carry on The Kind Mouse mission. No hardworking individual and their family should ever go hungry.
How We Fight Hunger
The Kind Mouse distributes food to schools, after-school programs, and other organizations for children to discreetly take home. Student volunteers lead food drives and pack meal sacks.
