About the Ozona Brewing Company Hops for Humanity Fund

Brew good. Do good. Strengthen Ozona.

Hops for Humanity is a community giving initiative created by Derek and Courtney Klein in partnership with Ozona Brewing Company to support local causes and strengthen the community they call home.

Through collaborative events, educational programs, and charitable giving, the fund invests in partnerships and efforts that enrich local culture, protect the environment, and strengthen the economic vitality of the region.

The fund is held at Pinellas Community Foundation, helping ensure contributions are stewarded with care and directed toward meaningful local impact.

  • Environmental sustainability: Protecting local waterways and promoting practical sustainability efforts
  • Small business and local vitality: Strengthening the local ecosystem that helps Ozona thrive

How Giving Works

Hops for Humanity plans to recommend approximately $75,000 in charitable giving over the next year, including sponsorships, special events, education and grants, with the remaining balance invested for long-term growth and future community initiatives.

Grantmaking note:

Recommendations will prioritize registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits and community efforts aligned with the fund’s focus areas, with a preference for local and regional impact.

Request Guidelines

  • Requests must be from a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN required)
  • Please submit requests at least 14 days before the requested pickup or event date
  • Submission does not guarantee approval, the team will follow up if selected
  • Requests must align with the fund’s values and focus areas
  • Beer-related requests must comply with applicable state and local licensing requirements
