In 2009, access to dental services was identified as the number one social service need in Pinellas County.

In 2011, united with a shared vision for providing affordable dental services, The Salvation Army, Clearwater Free Clinic and Arc of Tampa Bay collaborated to establish the Community Dental Clinic.

In 2013, the clinic opened its doors to the community – supported by the donations of gracious individuals, foundations and organizations, and the commitment of our dedicated dental and non-dental volunteers.

Our clinic is an independent nonprofit organization. We offer urgent dental care and comprehensive dental services including exams/x-rays, cleanings, fillings, root canals, and extractions for adults in our community who do not have dental insurance or the financial resources to access the care they desperately need.

Without access to care, treatable dental issues can lead to serious overall health problems. Our goal is to improve the dental health and quality of life of our patients, reduce the number of missed work days, and preclude unnecessary ER visits.

At our dental clinic, we believe in a holistic approach to oral healthcare that considers the entire individual, not just their mouth. We understand that many factors affect our patient’s health and well-being, and we strive to provide them with the resources and support they need to maintain good overall health.

One way we do this is by offering soft foods for patients who undergo extractions or painful deep cleanings. We know that these procedures can be uncomfortable and that patients may struggle to eat regular foods for a few days while they heal. By providing them with nutritious soft foods, we help them get the nourishment they need to recover and stay healthy.
