
Kit Van Pelt

Kit Van Pelt, a Pinellas County native, is a partner at Griffin and Van Pelt, P.A., in Clearwater, Florida. Her firm focuses on estate planning, probate and trust administration.
Kit is a past president of the Pinellas County Estate Planning Council and a past president of the Clearwater Bar Foundation. She currently serves as a Board Member for the Clearwater Bar and has been the past chair of the Clearwater Bar’s Probate Section. Kit is an active member of many Florida Bar committees, including the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, the Probate Rules Committee and the Standing Committee on Professionalism.
One of Kit’s core values has always been the importance of being of service to others. Kit honors this commitment through numerous hours of pro bono work in Pinellas County, through the Community Law Program and Bay Area Legal Services. In 2024, Kit was honored to receive the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the 6th Judicial Circuit.
Kit’s dedication to her community extends past her pro bono work. She recently ended her tenure for the board of the Humane Society of Pinellas and enjoys volunteering for the Salvation Army. In her downtime, Kit enjoys spending time with her husband and five rescue pets.
