About Priscilla Rose McFadden

Priscilla was a lifetime (1953-2025) resident of St. Petersburg, Florida, born to the loving arms of Willie Pearl McFadden and Ben McFadden. She attended local schools, including Happy Workers Day Care, Wildwood Elementary School, and 16th Street Middle School, and graduated from Gibbs High School in 1971. Education was important to her, and she continued her studies at Florida State University, where she achieved her Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Class of 1975. As a child, Priscilla gave her life to the Lord and was baptized at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a former member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She later became a member of McCabe United Methodist Church, where she continued to serve the Lord faithfully.

Priscilla had the uncanny ability to connect with people, and Pinellas County was blessed to have her compassion, understanding, and genuine care. Her first job was at the Boys & Girls Club as a teen worker, where she worked with children. She made a huge impact on everyone’s lives, whether colleagues, organizations, providers, the community-at-large, and their families. She worked for several nonprofit organizations, such as Pinellas Opportunity Council, CASA, Devereux Kids, Eckerd Community Alternatives, Family Services Center, Operation PAR, and St. Petersburg Free Clinic. She retired from the Juvenile Welfare Board, yet she continued to work with the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg / Reads! Program and served on the Evara Health Board of Directors over the years. Her passion was to be there for others, and she spent countless hours volunteering over the years, primarily with organizations and programs that served children and families. As a breast cancer survivor and dialysis patient, she was a selfless and resilient soul who continued to inspire everyone she came into contact with.

Priscilla enjoyed shopping, gardening, puzzles, art & music, serving at church, sending cards of encouragement, dining out at one of her favorite restaurants, and spending time with family. She leaves to cherish her memories: Brother: Timothy G. McFadden (Gloria); Sisters: Gloria Flournoy and Linda “Mickey” McFadden; Nieces: Kacia Flournoy Green, Katrina Wilson and Kristina Flournoy; Great Nieces: Kayla Mond and Kiiyona Taylor; Great Nephews: Ikeem Flournoy, Laron Mills and Jakar Flournoy; Best Friends: Donna Yvette Cannon, Dena Macon Nelson, Faith Church Walker, Gary Wilson. She also leaves a host of other loving relatives, friends, and work families.
