Lighthouse of Pinellas (LHP) is dedicated to advancing the independence, dignity, and quality of life for people who are blind or visually impaired across all ages. Through expert training, compassionate support, and community-centered programs, LHP empowers children, teens, and adults to thrive.
For over 60 years, LHP has provided life-changing services for individuals experiencing vision loss in Pinellas County. With a team of certified professionals and an unwavering commitment to inclusion and independence, the Lighthouse continues to be a beacon of hope and opportunity.


Mission & Vision
Mission: To advance the independence and quality of life for individuals in Pinellas County who are blind or visually impaired.
Vision: A community where everyone with vision loss can reach their fullest potential.
Early Intervention (Birth–5 Years)
Supporting families of young children with developmental guidance, mobility and sensory training, and one-on-one coaching to foster confidence, independence, and school readiness.
Children’s Program (Ages 6–13)
Elementary and middle school students participate in hands-on activities and learn daily living skills, building a strong foundation for success in school and life.
Teen Transition Program (Ages 14–22)
Teens gain real-world experience through career exploration, life skills coaching, and mobility training, preparing them for college, employment, and independent living.
Employment Services for Adults
Adults receive individualized support to pursue meaningful employment, overcome barriers, and retain independence. Through Florida’s Division of Blind Services, Lighthouse of Pinellas offers:
- Job readiness and training programs
- Job placement and on-the-job coaching
- Support for individuals experiencing progressive vision loss
