About the Caring and Sharing Center for Independent Living

Established in 1992, the Caring and Sharing Center for Independent Living—now known as the Disability Achievement Center—is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Our organization is unique in that it is operated by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities, ensuring a deep understanding and commitment to the community we serve.

Our Mission & Programs

We support programs, services, and activities designed specifically to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving and maintaining an independent lifestyle. Our offerings include:

Independent Living Skills Training

We provide training to help individuals develop the skills necessary for daily living and self-sufficiency.

Peer Mentoring

Connecting individuals with disabilities to mentors who offer guidance, support, and shared experiences.

Advocacy

We advocate for the rights and needs of the disability community at local, state, and national levels.

Information and Referral

Offering resources and referrals to assist individuals in accessing services and support.
